Pharmacy Alternatives abides by the laws of the federal government and applicable state governments

The Food & Drug Administration, a division of The Department of Health and Human Services, the Drug Enforcement Agency, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) are all entities that affect how Pharmacies do business and implement policies and procedures in every aspect of medication order delivery.

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy is the independent, international, and impartial association that assists its member boards and jurisdictions in developing, implementing, and enforcing uniform standards for the purpose of protecting the public health.

Each state also has a state Board of Pharmacy that provides guidance within the parameters of that state’s particular laws. You can obtain contact information for your state’s Board of Pharmacy at the NABP website or at other sites on the Internet. These sites often have vital information about pharmacy and medication issues that are occurring in the legislature or that will be coming up in the future.

Pharmacy Alternatives® also follows HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) laws to insure our customers’ private medical information is protected.
